CHAPTER ONE

The Bible is the Word of God

Because the Bible says so... And the Bible is infallible... Because it is the Word of God...

One of the most terrible things a person can do is deny the existence of our glorious God.  Typically, this sort of immoral behaviour comes along with a belief that the Bible is not, in fact, the infallible word of God.  Modern Believer, you and you alone may be the only one capable of bringing the non-believer the Absolute Truth, saving them from a terrifyingly horrible eternal afterlife baking in the sea of fire and brimstone.

It is imperative that non-believers understand the critical truth that the Bible is exactly what we know it to be: Infallible, the Word of God, and the ultimate authority on the morality of you, me, and everyone who lives in Christian countries (such as the United States).  So without further ado, here are a few ways you can convince the typical non-believer of the Absolute Truth of the Holy Bible.

Hit them over the head with it.

And no, I don’t mean that figuratively! If they don’t believe in the Bible, then why does it hurt so much when it hits their head?  Ask them that question until they submit to the Love of Jesus Christ.

Show them this picture:

I prayed to Jesus before writing this tip, and he told me to tell you guys that God told him to tell me to tell you that He promises that what the Bible tells us is true.  If it weren’t true, would God have told Jesus to tell me to tell you to look at this picture that I drew so I could tell you that Jesus told me that God told me to tell him to tell you that the Bible is true?  Exactly.

Talk about the Holy Spirit a bunch.

Sometimes, non-believers will try to back you into a corner and make you admit that God didn’t literally write the Bible.  While this is technically true, it’s still not True.  Sort of how like when people say the Biblical Flood in the story of Noah’s Ark didn’t truly happen.  We know it happened because it’s True.  We’ll cover the topic of “Truth and Truth” in a later chapter.

Now, when a non-believer confronts you with the “But God didn’t literally write the Bible,” hogwash, allow the Holy Spirit to flow through you like Small Pox in an Indian camp.  ...What, too soon?

Educate them.  God cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18) and the Bible was written by men inspired by God through the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21).  If you’re a true Christian, you understand that the Holy Spirit is one of the Holy Trinity (Father God, Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit) which makes up God.  So it’s three different guys, but they’re all one guy.  But it’s a trinity.  You get the point.

So yes, non-believers, God did not literally pick up a pen and write down the Bible.  Yeah, clap clap, good observation.  Meanwhile, in reality-world, we logical sons and daughters of God understand that the men who wrote the Bible were moved by the Holy Spirit, aka one of the Trinity, aka God, and God can’t lie, it says so right there in the Bible.  So there.

Say this: It says so right there in the Bible!

I’ve found that one of the most convincing things to non-believers is the Bible itself.  I accept that the Bible was inspired by God through the Holy Spirit.  Naturally, if I believe it to be true, that means other people do, too.  I mean, if they didn’t, then why would I believe it? Hello!?

All you need to do to prove the inerrancy of the Bible is to show them the Bible! Show them the verses I quoted before.  Here they are again:

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.  (2 Timothy 3:16)

“for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21)

“that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.” (Hebrews 6:18)

See? It says so right there in the Bible!

Finally, have a look at this image:

This is the best way to argue the infallibility of the Bible.  See? It has three main points. Just like God! We know that the Bible is infallible because it is the Word of God.  We know that God can’t lie, because it says so right there in the Bible.  And we know that we should believe what the Bible says because the Bible is infallible. See? Works perfectly.  Just like our Lord Jesus.

Show your pet non-believer this image.  Because this argument works with three points, just like the Lord God, they will be speechless. No doubt in awe of our Lord God’s mighty power of argument!

Extra Tips:

    ·         Never admit you could be wrong. You’re the one with faith! Faith trumps facts, every time!

    ·         If they talk about something called “Circular Reasoning,” tell them that God’s ways are above ours, thereby cancelling out any logical fallacies they try to accuse you of.

    ·         God is always with you! Always! With God on your side, you are invincible! (Not literally, of course.)
