"Being a Stay at home parent is fine. But it doesn't mean you (automatically) deserve more respect than someone who works for a living."
I fully support people being stay at home parents if they wish - I mean, if you can afford to live off of one salary, good on you.
But it seems like there's this sort of bizarre idea that if someone is a stay-at-home parent, they deserve far more respect than someone who works to pay their bills.
While I applaud the people who are able to stay home and give their kids the attention that they need, I applaud louder for the people who get up every day to help keep the world going. The doctors, the fire fighters, the police, the cashiers, the store managers, the waiters and waitresses, the fuel station workers, the truckies, the mechanics, etc.

Stay at home moms with children old enough to be in school are lazy. My own mother was one, she didn't do jack shit other than shop online and work on her hobbies, and made me do all the cleaning, cooking, and errands.
