Description

The words belong not to me, but to the faithful who commented* on a news article I read recently. I found that while they often spoke about how horrible, deluded, and angry Atheists are, their own horrible, deluded, anger kept seeping through between their 'Jesus loves you's and 'I'll pray for you's. So I made this. Yay!

*It should be noted that some of these statements have been edited, to remove names of other people or to shorten the actual statements themselves. The wording may have been changed for simplicity's sake, but the ideas and beliefs behind them have stayed the same. Thank you.

I realize this is more or less "preaching to the choir" here, but in case any Theist sees this, I've clarified each letter for them.

H: The Argument from Numbers Fallacy. "Because a majority believes in supernatural things, those things MUST be true"
- Yeah, just like the majority once believed the earth was flat and before that, in the center of the universe. By this logic, vampires, witches, and werewolves also exist. Atheism isn't healthy? Not believing in things unproven is unhealthy? So then we ALL must be sick for not believing in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Loch Ness Monster, dragons, unicorns, wizards... do I really need to continue?

A: Don't think there is a logical fallacy for this, but, "Because god is on our money, god is real!"
- No. God wasn't on our money till the '50s. And despite what many say, it IS a violation of the First Amendment. Also, do not confuse our "anger" for pure and utter frustration. We are angry because Christians don't know the first thing about PAYING ATTENTION. They don''t like us refuting their propaganda, and continually shove their BS down our throats. Of course we're going to get angry. Yet when we say ANYTHING, it's them who play the victim card claiming they are being oppressed. Gotta love that double standard.

T: "Atheists have faith in doubt" hahahano.
- Atheist don't have faith period. Faith is irrelevant, it is belief without proof. An excuse to believe in unjustified things. If "god" were real, you wouldn't need faith. The difference between Theists and Atheists; we Atheists CARE that what we believe is true and accurate. We don't need faith. The rest of "T" is a repeat of "H."

E: "I will pray for Atheists" Sweet, we'll think for you.
- "E" is all over the map. But yeah, Theists are filled with something alright. Products of man do not come about in nature. Hence the term "Man Made." Comparing man made object to nature made things is comparing apples to ball bearings. There was nothing spontaneous about humans coming into existence. That's a product of billions of years of evolution. And no. We do not live by "god's laws." The Bible is not a legal document. The US in only a Christian nation in the same vein that it's also a female nation, a middle class nation, a white nation... a gullible nation, but it was NOT founded on Christian beliefs. It was based on Secularism. And yes, the Founding Fathers were mainly Deists. That means they believed in the idea of a creator god, but nothing else beyond that. It does NOT mean they believed in Jesus.
