Hey everyone, I noticed there isn't really a group based around ASMR, so I figured I would do that.

If you're interested in joining or learning more, please drop by I-Love-ASMR

Here's a video I found on YouTube about ASMR.

There are lots of different sorts of triggers for ASMR. Most ASMR experiences begin either from an external or an internal trigger; Type A episodes are elicited by the experiencer using no external stimuli, whereas Type B are triggered involuntarily by an external trigger via one or more senses. From the ASMR Research & Support website, some common external triggers include:

:bulletpink: Exposure to slow, accented, or unique speech patterns
:bulletorange:Viewing educational or instructive videos or lectures
:bulletpink:Experiencing a high empathetic or sympathetic reaction to an event
:bulletorange:Enjoying a piece of art or music
:bulletpink:Watching another person complete a task, often in a diligent, attentive manner -- examples would be filling out a form, writing a check, going through a purse or bag, inspecting an item closely, etc.
:bulletorange:Close, personal attention from another person
:bulletpink:Haircuts, or other touch from another on head or back.

As the group begins to gain its footing a list of different external ASMR triggers will become available here on the group's homepage and in a journal.
