To anyone who isn't going to bother researching secular paganism, here's a quick and easy to understand definition copied from wikipedia

"Secular paganism or humanistic paganism upholds virtues and principles associated with paganism, such as respect for living creatures and the Earth itself, while rejecting belief in deities. Secular pagans may recognize goddesses/gods as useful metaphors for different cycles of life, or reframe magic as a purely psychological practice"

In short, "Atheist" pagans view pagan gods and goddesses as metaphors or symbols, rather than spiritual beings. They are still very important to a lot of secular pagans.

However, it is important to remember paganism is a very wide spectrum of beliefs and practices. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to paganism, and many people who call themselves pagan have found their own path, whether it closely resembles tradition or not. Much like in witchcraft, you should never tell a witch or pagan that they're not doing it the right way because they're not doing it your way.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
