Description

"You can't pick and choose from the Bible."

If you claim to be a part of a religion, claim that the Bible is fact, and that it's the definite word of God, then you can't just half-ass it. It's either all the "word of god" or none at all.

Here's some fun examples of things you need to remember.

Anyone who works on Sunday Saturday (sorry!) is to be put to death. (Exodus 35:2).

Women can't teach, or hold authority positions over men. (1 Timothy 2:11-15).

Crippled people, dwarves, or those with flat noses or damaged testicles must stay away from the altar (Leviticus 21:18-20).

You can't wear clothes of mixed fibers. (Leviticus 19:19).

You can't be disrespectful to your parents, or else you'll be killed. (Leviticus 20:9).

You can't eat pork, shrimp, shellfish. (Leviticus 11:7-12)

Remember that next time when you're taking the position of your god and condemning all these sinners and homosexuals to hell.

The Ten Commandments - the basis of our laws and morals

The bible was written 2000 years ago by nomadic people in the desert. Why do we still try and apply it to modern society? There are some rules we can all mutuality agree on : homicide=bad, rape=bad, slavery=bad, pedophilia=horrible/unforgivable. There are gray areas that according to the bible- people should still be punished for : orphan street kid-steals food cause she's hungry (Oh that's an sin "thou shall not steal"), joyfully Pregnant woman 20 weeks along- develops an severe form of HELLP syndrome or severe form of preeclampsia, aborting the baby is they only way to save her life (According to many Christian groups -NOT ME- that's murder) "thou shall not kill" . Who are we to guilt trip an devastated almost first time mom? Our society has changed so much in the last 2000 years for better or for worse. Shouldn't our laws change to reflect that?
